Homemade Play Dough

It’s a bit of a miserable looking day here, LO is obviously bored as I watch her raid the cupboards, and turns everything literally upside down!
I wanted to try something different and to keep Ela entertained, so hey fresco I made Play Doh!
And here’s how you can make it too:
What you’ll need;
  • cup of cold water
  • 1 cup of salt
  • 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil
  • 3 cups of flour
  • 2 tablespoons of cornflour
  • food colouring
Mix all your dried ingredients together, then slowly add the water until it forms a nice dough.
It should now be a nice dough that you can pick up easy, if it’s too sticky then add more flour, if it’s too dry then add some more water.
Knead well so that the colour is well blended.
And that’s it! Let the fun begin! Make lots of shapes, and you can make more batches for different colours! You can use biscuit cutters for shapes, rolling pins and stamps to make patterns etc.
After you’ve finished playing keep it in a air tight container, sandwich bag or fridge.
Enjoy!
